The first of the 3 game projects at futuregames I have been apart of, Super recycler is a game aimed at young children about making recycling trash fun. The theme for this game project was future movement and we included this by making the main character use jet boots and a booster on their back as well as magnets for picking up trash. The main gameplay challenge are the controls themselves as well as various minigames and obstacles throughout the level. The player starts inside a recycling station with a tutorial mural with the controls listed. They can then make their way out into the city and search for trash to collect and then recycle back at the station.

My personal Contributions to this game include the level design, dog ai, all of the mini games spread throughout the level and the car spawning system. I also worked a bit on the trash spawning system to make it spawn different types of trash.

My personal favorite feature i made is the dog. It is the only “enemy” included in the game unless you count the cars. It will randomly patrol inside the park until the player enters it which will make it chase the player and tip them over so they fall and lose any trash they have collected. If you find the dog annoying you can distract it by kicking the big football in the middle of the football field inside the park which will make the dog chase it instead of the player.

Overall this short 2 week project was a fun introduction to making games in a team and Im happy with what we accomplished in such a brief period of time
